To achieve these, the study aims to identify how these three factors inhibit the performance of the Corporation and make a proposition on how to counter the challenges. The study will make contributions on how the corporation should ensure optimum stock better understanding of the international markets as well as a streamlined supply chain. The researcher aims to collect data through questionnaires, int erviews. (iii) Introduction Problem Statement The main aim of this research is to develop a proper understanding of the challenges that Target Corporation is currently facing (Jayson, 2014). The problems have affected its performance to an extent of announcing it would close down one hundred and thirty- three stores in Canada which are not even two years in place. The study will focus on the three critical challenges that have led to the proposition of the closure of the stores. Corporation background Any business that needs to remain relevant and competitive in this era of technology dynamism must invest heavily in mechanisms that will help it to counter the market dynamism. This research takes place at a period during which Target Corporation is worried that its shares might go down (Jayson, 2014). The corporation entrance into the Canadian market has failed leading it to announce the closing down of all the Canadian outlets. The announcement that was made in less than two yea rs after the inauguration of the stores can be a major contributing factor to lower the prices of the shares as the investors will question its ability to succeed in international markets. (Jayson, 2014) Aims This study aims to understand the perspective of the customers and employees of the corporation concerning the concerning the stock shortages experienced in the corporation target shelves frequently. The study also, aims to develop theories to understand how supply chain management affects the smooth running of the corporation. The study also aims to establish the effects of globalization about the poor performance of the Canadian stores. It also seeks to provide ways that the Target Corporation should invent to arrest the declining investors trust. To achieve this aims, the study will consider the extent to which these challenges has affected the performance of the Target Corporation so as to come up with the appropriate questions. Significance An efficient supply chain man agement, clear understanding about the international markets and culture as well as, holding optimum stock are some of the problems Target Corporation is facing today.
